- LGT-Net: Indoor Panoramic Room Layout Estimation with Geometry-Aware Transformer Network 3D room layout estimation by a single panorama using deep neural networks has made great progress. However, previous approaches can not obtain efficient geometry awareness of room layout with the only latitude of boundaries or horizon-depth. We present that using horizon-depth along with room height can obtain omnidirectional-geometry awareness of room layout in both horizontal and vertical directions. In addition, we propose a planar-geometry aware loss function with normals and gradients of normals to supervise the planeness of walls and turning of corners. We propose an efficient network, LGT-Net, for room layout estimation, which contains a novel Transformer architecture called SWG-Transformer to model geometry relations. SWG-Transformer consists of (Shifted) Window Blocks and Global Blocks to combine the local and global geometry relations. Moreover, we design a novel relative position embedding of Transformer to enhance the spatial identification ability for the panorama. 1 SCCA: Shifted Cross Chunk Attention for long contextual semantic expansion Sparse attention as a efficient method can significantly decrease the computation cost, but current sparse attention tend to rely on window self attention which block the global information flow. For this problem, we present Shifted Cross Chunk Attention (SCCA), using different KV shifting strategy to extend respective field in each attention layer. Except, we combine Dilated Attention(DA) and Dilated Neighborhood Attention(DNA) to present Shifted Dilated Attention(SDA). Both SCCA and SDA can accumulate attention results in multi head attention to obtain approximate respective field in full attention. In this paper, we conduct language modeling experiments using different pattern of SCCA and combination of SCCA and SDA. The proposed shifted cross chunk attention (SCCA) can effectively extend large language models (LLMs) to longer context combined with Positional interpolation(PI) and LoRA than current sparse attention. Notably, SCCA adopts LLaMA2 7B from 4k context to 8k in single V100. This attention pattern can provide a Plug-and-play fine-tuning method to extend model context while retaining their original architectures, and is compatible with most existing techniques. 1 authors · Dec 12, 2023
1 Detection-Oriented Image-Text Pretraining for Open-Vocabulary Detection We present a new open-vocabulary detection approach based on detection-oriented image-text pretraining to bridge the gap between image-level pretraining and open-vocabulary object detection. At the pretraining phase, we replace the commonly used classification architecture with the detector architecture, which better serves the region-level recognition needs of detection by enabling the detector heads to learn from noisy image-text pairs. Using only standard contrastive loss and no pseudo-labeling, our approach is a simple yet effective extension of the contrastive learning method to learn emergent object-semantic cues. In addition, we propose a shifted-window learning approach upon window attention to make the backbone representation more robust, translation-invariant, and less biased by the window pattern. On the popular LVIS open-vocabulary detection benchmark, our approach sets a new state of the art of 40.4 mask AP_r using the common ViT-L backbone, significantly outperforming the best existing approach by +6.5 mask AP_r at system level. On the COCO benchmark, we achieve very competitive 40.8 novel AP without pseudo labeling or weak supervision. In addition, we evaluate our approach on the transfer detection setup, where ours outperforms the baseline significantly.
