Is this supposed to work for upscaling or not?

I've injected this into the flux model for upscaling purposes and it seems to have made the upscale time about 5 times longer. Was that intended or have I done something wrong here? The Hyper-FLUX model worked alright using this method, this one seems to have caused it to grind to a glacial pace and I've no idea why.
