Additionally, a server add-on called Private Cloud Compute will run the 3-billion-parameter version of OpenELM when the Apple A17 Pro chipset in the iPhone 15 Pro Max cannot meet the compute requirements. From a technical perspective, this situation is quite unfavorable for Apple, considering that OpenELM scores only 24.80/100 on the MMLU, while even the off-the-shelf 70-billion-parameter version of Llama3 is reported to achieve a score of 82/100 on the same benchmark.
