Image Quality at higher control values

I am trying to run Controlnet Canny on the following control image, with control value of 0.0 and control value of 0.5.
At 0.0, the results are quite clear, at 0.5 (as control increases) the results become blurry/smoky/ not very clear.
All other standard parameters. Did try other schedulers too, but same issue everytime.
Does anyone know a way to solve this.

This is also the case with the first example in the model card. Images with higher control value are getting blurry
